I’ve created a new ornament all about the proposal! For this one, I wanted to show the man on one knee holding out a beautiful engagement ring and the woman delighted with the scene in front of her. I hope I captured this most happiest occasion:
I so love my job and creating precious ornaments that are sure to be treasured for life. It makes people happy, so what more could I possibly want? ❤
These are available in my shop here. I thought they’d make a sweet gift for a precious friend or relative who just got engaged or even a treasure for their bridal shower.
One of my most favorite things to paint is Christmas ornaments. Oh how I delight in creating them and have often wished for this to be something I could do year round instead of just seasonally. Lately I’ve been thinking that just maybe this is possible.
I’ve sold Christmas ornaments in my etsy shop called The Cozy Loft since I opened it in 2008. This has been something that seems to come easily to me and I’ve been able to paint anything people have asked me to paint on them. It’s a gift from God that I have this ability and am 100% sure this is not something I am doing on my own.
This was ordered from a sweet Bride as a gift for her mother and I had the pleasure of creating it by using photos from her of the dresses and of the ladies:
I apologize for the flash but it was a cloudy morning and I needed to get it in the mail so this is the best I could do. Still, I love it and wanted to share it with you. These are listed here and are available as Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom gifts. They are personalized with dress styles, hair colors, hair styles, hair length, bridal bouquet colors and whatever you’d like the back to say.
Inside my shop, there’s an ornament section where you’ll find couples, pets, Father of the Bride or Father of the Groom ornaments and much more.
I can see these kinds of things being gifted all year, not just at Christmas time. Christmas ornaments are ideal to gift as they are sure to be a forever keepsake and treasured…plus they will be displayed every year at Christmas. I just can’t think of a better, more special gift.
A previous client contacted me to create a sign for her child to hold at her wedding. I was so honored to create it for her. At the beginning of the process, I realized it would be a fun process to video and share. I posted it on YouTube and you can see it by clicking here.
It was important to me to share this video because I hoped to inspire some of you to get creative and have some fun with perhaps some artwork for your home. Of course, if you don’t want to DIY it, I’d be happy to create it for you…just let me know what you have in mind. There are a good many things I create but don’t post them in my shop.I’m trying to be better about posting and sharing them here, though .
I’m loving posting the videos on YouTube, too! Back in 2011, I created a video and put it up but then I moved and things sort of fell by the wayside. Currently, I have 11 subscribers and that is so much fun! I hope to have lots more soon, but it’s necessary to have more content to get people interested. I’m working on it. 🙂
Several weeks ago I started “The Wedding Planner Project” in which I created checklists, calendar pages, budget worksheets, vendor pages, helpful tips and pretty much anything a Bride would need during her planning of the Big Day. Here’s how it turned out:
I’m in love with it!! It is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever made for my shop. Maybe because so much time and thought went into it. Not that I usually don’t put a lot of time and thought into things, but this was a lengthy process. Pages were not only prepared for the content but also printed to size, coming up with a disc bound system to make the pages movable and removable easily and then other accessories such as a strong poly pocket and dividers. I can’t contain my excitement!
There are so many things that go into planning a wedding that the process can get overwhelming. It was my goal to make this a pretty planning system that covered all the bases and allowed the Bride to be ahead of the process and pressure free.
For the sizing, I wanted these to be large enough that the Bride didn’t have to write teeny tiny but that it was small enough to be able to take everywhere she may go. Having everything at her fingertips is more important than most people know!
I included extra pages that are blank so that there are areas to write more information if needed or to scrapbook pictures, fabric swatches and more. They are listed in my shop here.
Sometime later on in February, I’ll be sure to do a video featuring this planner. I’m working on getting a good filming location set up along with a few pieces of equipment. Right now, I’m limited on that but have been researching and planning new ideas for that. So many fun things happening!!! 🙂 Life is good!
Sweet burlap is perfect for rustic weddings. Maid of Honors, Bridesmaids, Matrons of Honor, Flower Girls and Junior Bridesmaids are all important in a wedding and what better way to ask them to be there for you on your special day than with these?
I’ve had these in my shop for quite a while but I never get tired of creating them. These sachet gifts were created with burlap and feature distressed and personalized tags, raffia, jute and hemp….and some of the most beautiful smelling, long lasting lavender you can imagine. When I say long lasting, it lasts for years. A simple pinch of the pillow will renew the fragrance when it’s faded a bit.
I found these little “Mr & Mrs” signs while out and about…for some reason I could envision so many different designs for them so I painted several and got them listed in my etsy shop. They can be glittered, distressed, multiple colors, one color and more.
Here’s a couple of them, finished:
They are available in my shop here and here. since the supplies are inexpensive, I can offer them at really great pices 🙂
A couple of new creations for a dear friend of mine who’s getting married very soon. The item on the left is a large chalkboard in a gold frame they’ll be using for the beer menu they have brewed themselves! The item on the right is a sign their Ring Bearer will have for going down the aisle. Melissa and Bryan – I wish you a lifetime of happiness. HUGE XOXOXOXOXOXOXO’s!!!!
