Red White & Black

Have you noticed how drab the house looks when all the Christmas decorations come down? It’s sad to me to see all the pretty red and green things long gone. While my decor has some color to it and isn’t drab, I think it’s those pops of color that really keep the winter season from becoming drab.

For this very reason, I’ve expanded my Valentine’s Day decor to add some beautiful red and white…and even a little black…to my home. I created a Valentine’s Day initial flag a few years ago and am always so excited to pull it out. They are available in my etsy shop here  if this is something you might like to add to your holiday decorations.

Then, I made a wreath for the carport door using white mesh, different ribbons, pipe cleaners and a heart wire wreath form.

These things make me so happy and I think the touch of black is unexpected yet it adds some unexpected boldness to the pieces. What do you think? Let me know if you try it out! 🙂

Engagement Gift

I’ve created a new ornament all about the proposal! For this one, I wanted to show the man on one knee holding out a beautiful engagement ring and the woman delighted with the scene in front of her. I hope I captured this most happiest occasion:

I so love my job and creating precious ornaments that are sure to be treasured for life. It makes people happy, so what more could I possibly want? ❤

These are available in my shop here. I thought they’d make a sweet gift for a precious friend or relative who just got engaged or even a treasure for their bridal shower.

Paintings Galore

I was able to reach my goal of getting 48 listings up today! I figured I’d make another post this evening and then I’m going to leave the computer for a good long while. It’s been a long day of listing, editing photos, sharing photos and such. Though, I truly love my “job”!

Don’t worry, no birds were harmed in the making of this painting:

You’ve seen this one before on a previous post:

“Sunset View” ACEO on Canson, listed here

This one is one of my personal favorites. The owl seems to be saying “Hello World, I’m ready for anything!”

Another one you’ve seen on here before (I do hold on to things too long, don’t I?)

“Preparation” ACEO Acrylics on Canson, listed here

And another:

Okay, that’s enough for tonight and probably more than anyone would want to actually look through at one time. I realize these are photo heavy but maybe my overly talkative post earlier today makes up for that. 🙂

xoxo and good night my friends,

Vintage Inspired Wedding Sign

A previous client contacted me to create a sign for her child to hold at her wedding. I was so honored to create it for her. At the beginning of the process, I realized it would be a fun process to video and share. I posted it on YouTube and you can see it by clicking hereIMG_7745-001

It was important to me to share this video because I hoped to inspire some of you to get creative and have some fun with perhaps some artwork for your home. Of course, if you don’t want to DIY it, I’d be happy to create it for you…just let me know what you have in mind. There are a good many things I create but don’t post them in my shop.I’m trying to be better about posting and sharing them here, though .

I’m loving posting the videos on YouTube, too! Back in 2011, I created a video and put it up but then I moved and things sort of fell by the wayside. Currently, I have 11 subscribers and that is so much fun! I hope to have lots more soon, but it’s necessary to have more content to get people interested. I’m working on it. 🙂

Aveeno Body Wash Review – Pomegranate & Rice

Yesterday I was in Walmart buying a new things for the day-after-Valentine’s-Day sale. Like I do often, I wandered back to the health and beauty aids section of the store. There on the top shelf was something I’d not seen before. It was the Aveeno positively nourishing smoothing body wash priced at $5.97.

I admit, I like to smell things before I buy them if I can. The items with the scratch and sniff stickers are much appreciated by me. If a smell is off putting, I can’t use it, eat it or tolerate it very well. In my heart of hearts, for example, I want to be able to use vinegar to clean with, use in foods and skin care concoctions but I can’t get past the smell. With Aveeno products being made of many natural ingredients, I had wondered how the smell would be.

Upon smelling it in the store, I almost put it back down. It wasn’t an alluring scent. However, it was a very refined and natural scent in the bottle but smells even better in use. When I used it yesterday, I went back into my bathroom an hour or so later and the light scent was still noticeable and pleasant. The scent is light enough that I believe a man or woman could use it.

Aveeno’s positively nourishing smoothing body wash does what it promises. It has a beautiful lather and contains walnut shell and rice exfoliants. These exfoliants aren’t harsh and are very gentle on your skin. You can view my video demonstration here if you’d like to see what it looks like in the bottle and in use.

Today, not even 24 hours later, my middle aged skin is softer than it’s been in a long time and I couldn’t be happier! I’d LOVE to know if it works for you the way it’s worked for me. If you try it, would you let me know? I’m so excited about this product and I’d love to hear your experience, too!

This is not a sponsored review. The reason for my purchase of this product was completely an impulse purchase while in the store. After using it, I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share it as soon as I possibly could!
