Happy 2019!

Happy 2019 my Cozy friends! When the holidays begin, my orders pick up which means I’m rarely heard from unless someone is contacting me about an order. This results in a very belated Christmas and Happy New Year sentiment from me to you but I hope you know that I mean it, no matter what day I deliver. 🙂

Along with that, the very fact that I paint personalized Christmas ornaments that are mostly purchased as Christmas gifts, I can’t share those until after Christmas. This always puts me in a predicament because I’m not sure people are interested in seeing Christmas ornaments after the fact but since so much time and love are put into them, I’ll be sure to share some. I hope you enjoy them over the next several posts.

For now, though, I thought I’d share this one that I created for a local family.

This precious family orders a family ornament every year. This year, they asked for a Santa, Mrs. Claus, their two beautiful daughters as elves and their sweet puppy on the ornament. My heart is filled with joy to be asked to create such special keepsakes.

I truly hope your Christmas was so very merry and that your 2019 is off to a wonderful start.

Farmhouse Snowmen!

I guess I was “Farmhouse” even when Farmhouse wasn’t cool. I’ve had what is now considered Farmhouse decor for many years though I more of an eclectic Farmhouse style because I also love rustic, Shabby Chic and Parisian types of decor. It somehow all works together because it’s cozy. Seeing the name of my business, The Cozy Loft, tells you it’s not just a persona or a gimmick for me…it’s who I am.

I wanted to create some snowmen in the Farmhouse style and as one thing led to another, I searched near and far for Buffalo Plaid fabric for the scarf. Seemingly, it’s in high demand as that was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Sure, I could have ordered it but I’m the kind of person who needs to create when I’m excited and envisioning something. There was no time to waste! Finally, I did find it and I have a photo here of how it turned out:

Oh I love it! I did go ahead and make a couple of others to join him so that I could have a few listed in my shop:

You can see them by clicking on the link here. I have another form that I’ve made more of the country/rustic style. He still needs a photography shoot so I’ll share him later on. They delight me! Sometimes it’s difficult to sell things when you want to hoard them all for yourself.  😀

Graduation Gifts

It’s graduation time…and it gets more and more difficult to come up with a unique graduation gift. I’ve worked on some new Christmas ornaments for my shop that I just had to come and blog about…I L-O-V-E painting these!!

I wanted a graduation ornament that a buyer could personalize the school colors, gender, hair color and skin color to fit the graduate to make it an extra special gift…so this is what I came up with:

So much fun!!!

Vols + Snowman = Cuteness

GBO! VFL! Those are two things I use alot of around this time of year on my Facebook and Twitter pages. What can I say, I’m a Tennessee Volunteers fan  for life (AKA VFL) and those this year shows me that we’re finally getting some forward progress. My Vols are currently ranked number 1 in the nation for the recruiting class of 2014. Coach Butch Jones is doing some wonderful things out there and I’m super excited! Go Big Orange (AKA GBO)!

While I’ve always had Vols things in my shop, I’ve been creating more this year because of my excitement. Here’s one of the things that’s found it’s way out of my mind and onto some wood in the form of a snowman!

I have this fella in my shop here.

Sure do hope whoever you follow in football is having a great year. And, if you follow no teams, you sure are missing out! There’s nothing like tailgate parties, sitting at a football game, experiencing a really great game, and of course all the back and forth with your friends who like opposing teams!! It’s just good ole fashioned fun!

Beautician Love

Beautician Love

A sweet customer asked me to create a Christmas ornament for her hairdresser. She wanted it pink with sparkles. I have these listed in my shop here if you want to see another color of this style.

How could I resist completely crushing over this?? I absolutely adored creating it and I don’t think I stopped smiling during the entire process. Love, love, love doing things like this. If there was a need for ornaments 365 days of the year, I’d have a complete ornament shop. They always have been one of my favorite things in the world to paint. 🙂

Personalized Christmas Stocking Stuffers!

When I found this wooden frame Christmas tree ornament, I knew I had to make it into a Vols design! For the inside, I did a painting of a “T” and then the outside, I painted a bright orange with white details, trimmed in blacks and shades of gray. Plus it can be personalized. And, then, I finished it off with an orange iridescent bow. What a great stocking stuffer for a Vols fan, I thought!

Here’s how it turned out:

I have these listed here in my shop. Also, I can create these in any type of team and colors needed. I so love custom requests! 🙂

Penguin Love!

I suppose it doesn’t matter what I’m doing, as long as I’m creating. Painting in particular has always been a passion of mine, so anytime I can create something – anything – I’m on top of the world!

This little penguin couple has it all….humor, love, fantasy, and happiness…all on a Christmas ornament! I wanted to create a Christmas ornament for a couple. Maybe to commemorate a first Christmas, a special anniversary, or for a new couple in general. I thought of penguins and how cute those little guys are so I used them as the feature in this painting.

Here’s the finished piece:

The really wonderful thing is I’ve already sold one, so it would seem someone else thought these little fellas were pretty special also. And, that absolutely makes it all worth it. 🙂 She asked for personalization on the back of “Our First Married Christmas” and the date of their wedding. How special it is to me to be a part of a keepsake for such a wonderful time in someone’s life. Did I mention that I LOVE what I do?? Cause I do and it makes me feel as though I’m doing something right in life!

I have them listed here in my etsy shop if you’d like to check them out. They make me smile every time I look at them!
