DIY Christmas Farmhouse Truck Sign Decor

IMG_2659

The Farmhouse Christmas signs in the stores are so cute…but they are so pricey! This DIY is how to create the sign for less than $5!

If video DIYs are your preferred method, I have one for you here.

Materials we’ll need:

  • Wood plank
  • Pickup truck cutout or printable
  • Acrylic craft paints
  • Berries or other accents (optional)

Tools you’ll need:

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Paint brushes

Now, let’s get it created! The first step it to prep your wood. If they are already primed, stained, etc., you won’t need to do this. If not, prime them white, stain them or create the background in any way you’d like. For this tutorial, I’ll be using a wood plank and a wood pickup truck cutout. The wood background is distressed white and the truck will be the traditional red and black with a green tree.

Allow both pieces to completely dry. Figure out which direction you’d like your truck to face. On the correct side, paint the truck in your desired colors, making sure to allow the paint to completely dry between coats as well as between colors. You could also add your family’s name to the truck door if you’d like it a personal touch.

Place the truck on the wood to determine what area you’d like your greeting to be in. Pencil that in so that you can paint it – or if you have vinyl letting, apply those now. For mine, I added “Merry Christmas” and then added a wreath on either side.

For the final step, we just glue the truck onto the wood. So easy, so budget friendly and so cute!
