Secrets at Dusk

There’s something to be said for the dark beauty of sunsets. Silhouettes of the world against a candy colored sky hinting at the darkness to come. It boasts a mystery that has always claimed its spot as my favorite time of day.

I have a few silhouette paintings I’ll be doing over the next few weeks. This one, I just completed last night called “Sunset View”:

ACEO miniature (2.5 by 3.5 inches, baseball card size) currently available by clicking here. If you’re interested in commissioning a similar piece, please contact me here and I’m happy to create an original piece in the size you would like. Also, prints of this piece may be available upon request.

I’m smitten with an owl’s vantage point in which to watch a sunset. Doesn’t it seem as if they are doing just that? In their wisdom, I like to imagine them flying up to a perfect spot and perching there to watch the night sky unfold.
