Mindless Wandering

Mindless Wandering

ACEO miniature (2.5 by 3.5 inches, baseball card size). If you’re interested in commissioning a similar piece, please contact me here and I’m happy to create an original piece in the size you would like. Also, prints of this piece may be available upon request.

At first glance, you may believe this to be a gloomy painting. This painting, in my creative mind’s eye, is to symbolize the storms we go through in life. This is obviously a large, busy city with its tall buildings and large street. Yet the man is drudging his way through with his umbrella to shelter him…right down the middle. It goes to show that even though the hustle and bustle of the world goes on around us, we quietly walk through storms though we go unnoticed. At times, it’s important that we mindlessly wander and go deep within to think.

Those are the thoughts I had when conceptualizing this piece and still have as I view the finished piece. We do come out of the storms in a positive way, too. We must face them, shield ourselves the best we can, and stay focused on the light, beautiful area just ahead.
