What I’m Listening To Now

Paolo Paolo Paolo

We made it back from our little excursion to see the Paolo Nutini concert in Nashville last night and oh my! This was at a club scene at a place called The Cannery, which is part of the Mercy Lounge. So much fun and such a great show!! Here’s a few pics I wanted to share:

Paolo even did an encore!

Here’s where we stayed in Nashville:

We really, really needed this little mini-vacation and some fun. Of course, it’s back to work tomorrow and I’m a bit hoarse from all the screaming I did at the concert, but hey…it’s all good!! :)

I am so loving this song from the Dave Matthews Band called “Funny the Way it is” right now:

Have you heard it? What do you think?

We Marked Our Calender!

Almost one year ago, I blogged about an AWESOME new singer named Paolo Nutini. Click here to read my previous post. Well…I have some great news! Charles and I are going to see him live in July!! We booked it this weekend and let me tell you, I can hardly wait to go!

His new CD “Sunny Side Up” debuts June 2nd. Charles and I have been anticipating it for a while, so we’ve been hearing every tidbit we possibly can in the meantime.

There’s something so raw about his voice and his work. Also performing that evening will be Matt Hires and Erin McCarley. Though I didn’t know either of these singers, I have heard samples from them and I’m excited to hear them, too!  This show will be so very awesome!

Soothing Music from Paolo

Do you know Paolo Nutini? The first song I heard from him had my interest…but this one has me spellbound! This singer/songwriter is a shocking 19 year old (at the time of the album recording) with a voice reminiscent of an old soul. When looking for a good link for you to listen to, I came across the video…which I wasn’t fond of at all. To me, videos totally take me in a different direction from my own interpretation of a song which often, to me, is much better than the visions of videographers.

At any rate, to maintain the purity of this song, please don’t watch the video…or at least wait until you’ve listened to the song several times in its entirety. Click here to go to the album link for the amazon sample and go down the page to song number 2 – “Last Request” and listen to this excerpt. I daresay it will leave you wanting more! I highly recommend spending the 99 cents for that song! There are some other great songs on this album, but also #6 on that list is a bright and happy song for you – spend the 99 cents on this one too. If you don’t want to buy the entire album, at least get these two songs…I don’t think you will regret it one penny!!
Let me know what you think…until then I’ll be listening to this super young and super talented artist and marveling in the tone and almost young-Rod Stewart-like similarities…
