I've always felt there's beauty in darkness…

Clothing and Shoes

Breezy, Gauzy, Cute

I’ve noticed I get alot of therapy from shopping…something about it makes me happy – excited even. After work today, I needed to refill my iron pills and decided to run by the mall. A little visit to J.C. Penney later, I had a cute new skirt.

I love this easy, breezy skirt white skirt made by Papillon for the low price of $20.00. For the photo I used a royal blue shirt I bought recently at Kmart from the Jaclyn Smith collection for a nice $14.00. Accompanied with some cute shoes and some jewelry, I’ll be ready for this hot summer weather we’re experiencing here in the South. Sweet…

Favorite Clothes

I was looking through some photos and started reminiscing about myself as a little girl and the clothes I wore.

Here are two of my favorite pieces of clothing from when I was a little girl in the 70s. The first one is a black velvet dress that had white trim. I felt like such a little princess in this:

This is my Kindergarten photo. I’m wearing a little red, blue, yellow and white top with white cuffs and collar and a red jumper with a sweet little butterfly on the center pocket. (Bear in mind, I eventually found a great beautician who could correctly cut and style very thick, naturally curly hair.) If only I were smiling (looks like I was close):

What about you? What were your favorite pieces of clothing as a child?

These Are Sooooo Comfy!!

I never got on the “Crocs” bandwagon because I just didn’t really like the style of them at first. Then, about a month ago, I ran across a sale on an off brand pair and when I tried them on, I must say I was pretty impressed! So, I purchased them and I really have been enjoying them. Imagine my surprise when my hubby was surfing and found some Crocs (the original brand!!) at a great sale price. Needless to say, they arrived this week and I am thrilled!! I bought basic black and they are mainly going to be worn around to kick around in. They are super comfortable and really lightweight! If you haven’t bought yourself a pair, I highly recommend them. Here they are:

I really do enjoy wearing them for small things – going to the mailbox, sweeping our walkway, running errands, etc. You ought to try them…I think you’ll be hooked, too!
