Halloween Past + Present Day Jack O Lantern…

Happy Halloween!!!

In honor of Halloween and to reminisce of dressing up in costumes, I thought I’d share a couple of my previous costume fun with you…

Here’s one of me from a few years ago – I though the skirt was really too short waisted which made it way too short for me, so I wore some black exercise shorts underneath:

and another which I played with bruises, blood and scars (wish I had a picture of the “scars” and “gashes” on my arms – you can see the start of the brusing on my arm, but the real gore is covered – shoot!):

Both of those are from my days of working part-time at Kmart. Ahhhhh, I do miss the excuses to dress up for Halloween!! Those are the MOST FUN things of all!!

So, back to the present Halloween day…Charles and I have worked on pumpkin carving and here’s our little Jack O Lantern:

And at night…

Have a wonderfully happy Halloween!!

Our Halloween Treats

Happy Halloween Eve My Dear Friends!!

Charles and I worked on our yard getting as many leaves up as possible for any spooks who might come our way tomorrow night. Seems no matter how much I try to have trick or treaters, we always seem to have anywhere from 0 to 5. We live just inside the city limit on a dead-end street, making it a quiet place. Our little town does so many things for Halloween that I think everyone is just out doing group activities. But who knows – maybe this year will be different.  I always have hope!

In the meantime, I like to make Halloween special for the two of us, so I made some lemon cupcakes with some buttercream icing…put in a cute little Halloween cupcake liner and topped with some orange sugar sprinkles!! Sooooooo cute!

Some of these went to our little neighbors along with an adorable little Halloween card – we are having so much fun!! I even included Charles and asked him to put the sprinkles on – we are such kids sometimes!!

The only bad thing in my day? I burned myself getting the cupcakes out of the oven. It’s a little over 3/4 inch long and looks much worse than it feels right now. I’m certain it will hurt more later.  I couldn’t tell you the last time I burned myself – anyone have any quick healing tips by some chance?

Tomorrow (or maybe even later tonight if there’s time), we’ll carve our pumpkin. I’ll be sure to show pictures of it tomorrow. Until then, I hope you are enjoying your Halloween Eve!!

Cottage/Chic Sachet Pillow

I guess I’m a silly type of gal sometimes. Little things (creations) come to life that I see in my head and I just feel like giggling like a school girl. I’m certain you could ask Charles and he would tell you that yes, I do really get that silly…

This little project came to me several months ago when we were working on our kitchen remodel. Back in August, I blogged a painting of similar style (click here to see it) of which copies are available in my etsy shop. So I’ve been trying to perfect a little pattern and I’m loving this one:

She’s a sweet little lavender sachet pillow measuring about 5 inches tall with lovely pink lace, pearl accents and hand painted rosebuds. She smells incredibly sweet and looks even sweeter!! Can you imagine opening up a lingerie drawer and seeing her in there!!??!! C-U-T-E!!!

This little lady is currently available in my etsy shop. Click here to see it in my shop.

Pretty Glass Connection

Earlier this week, I found some super cute glass tiles from a lovely etsy seller “The Glass Connection“. Click here to see her shop. And, please note, if you buy something from her, the shipping is SUPER FAST and her items are nicely packaged!! Here’s what I found:

After a little time with me, they are completely ready for the Shabby Chic/Cottage home! Here’s a couple of them now:

How sweet they turned out!! My biggest problem is letting go of these things that I’m working on. Isn’t it terrible that I want to keep it all? LOL – I’m soooo not kidding!!

Happy Sunday dear friends!

Prayer Request

This is just a quick post and a prayer request for my blog reading friends and family. My Grandmother, who turned 100 years old this past February, fell and broke her hip this week. She has had surgery and is currently on the mend. I respectfully request your prayers for her and my family, especially my Mother. For those of you who may not know, my Mom has some significant health problems of her own and needs so much strength to help my Grandmother through this.

My Grandmother at her 100th birthday party:

She is just precious and such a dear lady. The surgery went fine though she did have some complications with the medicine making her sick.  Thank you so much, in advance, for your prayers and concern. (((hugs)))
