Pretty Little Bottle…How I Love Thee

I am in LOVE with this little bottle!! I want to keep it for myself, but it wasn’t my original plan, so I feel as though I need to have it in my shop like I had intended. That doesn’t make it any easier though!!

This time, I tried something new with the little bottle since it has a cork topper. I embellished it with a pretty little pink rose and piece of vintage lace I purchased at the estate sale I told you about here on my blog earlier this month. You can probably tell that I really spent alot of time on it since there are roses EVERYWHERE on it.

Yesterday, I listed a few new things too…a Christmas card:

and a “love” card:

and some sweet cupcake gift tags:

Whew – I’ve been busy, but want to create lots more!! Plus, I want to do another giveaway very soon – check back later today or tomorrow for details.

Happy Holiday Weekend Everyone!!!

Kitchen Remodel Update

The tung oil arrived for our new butcher block countertops and, after reading some serious horror stories online about doing the countertops incorrectly, we realized we need mineral oil also. I picked that up yesterday in anticipation of us being able to cut the countertops to size.

Now, I have put two coats of the tung oil and mineral oil mixture (50/50, for any of you who may be attempting this yourself someday) on the countertops and my arms couldn’t be more sore! There’s alot of pressure to buff the oil into the wood, but it’s working out so far.

I just put the 2nd coat on right before taking these photos, but just had to show you what it’s looking like so far:

Oh and please bear in mind there’s no backsplash yet, so it has not been painted with as many coats of paint in that area. It will be done after the countertops are fully conditioned and complete. By the way, I’ve read that it takes 10 coats to bead water, so this is going to be a long process. But, that’s ok because how does the saying go? Nothing worth having ever comes easily. :D

A Little Spooky and A Lot Sweet

I love Halloween – it’s such a fun holiday to me. There have been lots of groups and people who don’t care for the holiday at all. Personally, I feel it is what you make of it. We always make it a fun, spooky and sweet holiday and have tons of fun…plus we try to spread the joy around, too!!

Here’s a couple of new things in anticipation of the season:

Both of these are available in my shop now and were so much fun to create!!

Purple Projects

I worked on a couple new things and have them listed in my shop. Yes, it’s rare to see me paint purple and stray a little from my pink that I love so much, but my Mother-In-Law loves purple and I’m always painting something purple for her. Here are some pics of my latest works:

I have more new things on the horizon too. Happy Monday!
